Revitalization of distillation column cooling at Rudolf Jelínek a.s.
The final stage of the revitalization of the cooling technology system of distillation columns at Rudolf Jelínek Vizovice was successfully completed in 2024. The project represents a significant step, the aim of which was to increase the efficiency of cooling and expand capacity in connection with the planned reconstruction of the primary production technology.
Scope and technical solution
The modernization included a complete replacement of the cooling technology with a total installed cooling capacity of 1,530 kW. The newly installed equipment consists of:

two freecooling chillers with a capacity of 2 × 606 kW,
-
one chiller with a capacity of 312 kW.
This combination allows for the effective use of low outdoor temperatures throughout the year and at the same time ensures stable cooling performance even during summer peaks.
Infrastructure modernization
The revitalization did not only concern the cooling sources themselves. The project also included:

replacement of piping for hot and cold water circuits,
-
installation of new cold and heated water tanks,
-
replacement of pumps and related technological elements.
The entire system was designed with an emphasis on higher operational reliability, reduced energy consumption and easier maintenance.
Project benefits
The main benefit of the revitalization is a significant increase in cooling efficiency and sufficient capacity reserve for future development of production technologies. The modern cooling concept contributes to reducing operating costs and at the same time supports the long-term sustainable operation of the production plant.
The completion of the last stage in 2024 has resulted in the creation of a robust and flexible cooling system that meets the current and future requirements of distillation production and confirms the emphasis of Rudolf Jelínek Vizovice on technological innovation and the quality of production processes.
